Christmas 2010 2nd Time Around

Some of our family could not make the Christmas Day Celebration so our Son KR hosted the
second Christmas Party.  What better way to celebrate and exchange gifts than over Pizza and conversation.

Canal Winchester 1st Winter Storm

Nice to look upon

We are always amazed by the beauty of the first snow fall.  This is the view from our back patio.  The wild turkeys roost in the top of some of the trees you see.

It is really cold this year. Temperatures have been below freezing all the time.  Our lowest was 6 degrees at our place

Nancy and I have seen many a winter and we still enjoy the first snow of the year.  There is a lot of downsides to winter but it is still something to enjoy.   Here are the pictures from our home.

Thanksgiving 2010

The start of every Thanksgiving is a visit to our Mothers favorite spot in Ohio. She spent many an hour at this 1 acre property in the middle of Wayne National Forest. Left to Right are Rick, Nancy, my sister Carole and my Sister Toni. Of course all the dogs are here too.

This is our Mother's gravesite in the Church of
Christ cemetary in Burr Oak. This site is about a 5 minute walk from the property.

Pictured are Toni, Rick and Carole. This cemetary is active and maintained by locals.

The Church, pictured below, is no longer being used.

Church active from 1833 to 1881 Pews are still inside
The cooks are ready.  So much cooking you will stick to the floor
Turkey must be lowered slowly.  Do not mess with hot oil
Every year we Deep Fry Two Turkeys.  Here is the first one going into the hot peanut oil

Carefully lowered into the Hot Peanut Oil

The Finished Product.  Great Taste and Easy to do
